Are You Still Relying on Artificial Sweeteners?

The use of artificial sweeteners is not the best idea, especially if you want a healthy lifestyle. Instead, taking healthy recipes, which include whole foods and vitamins, would be better for you. Your health depends entirely on your nutrition, and if you are not careful, your sugar levels would be quite an issue for you. Here are some reasons to kick sugar use:

1. Sugar makes you fat
Consuming food that has added sugar, such as candy and soda, contributes to weight gain and chronic health conditions. A type of sugar called fructose, in particular, can increase appetite by affecting the brain. Sugar affects hormones that regulate appetite, and that makes you crave sweet-tasting food, thus causing you to overeat, which is quite unhealthy. When you start looking forward to a weight loss, it may be too late to notice since you have accumulated too much fat, which can be quite strenuous to get rid of.
2. Damage to your liver
The liver is one of our complex organs, and it’s one of the primary storage for glucose in the form of glycogen. It processes fructose, which high level of it is converted into fats. Some of these fats are stored in the liver, which leads to insulin resistance in the body, thus increasing the risk of diabetes.
3. Increases risk of cancer
Overeating sugar is linked to high chances of getting cancer. Cancer cells grow rapidly and multiply at a fast rate; therefore, they need a lot of glucose for them to grow. Taking too much sugar, thus accelerates their growth. This is not to mention the fact that you can be obese and, at the same time, have cancer, which is quite risky.
4. Cause tooth decay
Sugars attract harmful bacteria and lower your mouth’s PH, thus destroying tooth enamel, which causes cavity on the tooth. Bacteria within the plaque use these sugars as energy and release acid as waste, which breaks through the enamel, making them decay.
5. Sugar is addictive
Just like other drugs, sugar can be addictive and certainly is not the best for your nutrition. Eating sugar is reinforcing, which means the more you take it, the more you want it. When you eat sugar, it stimulates the release of dopamine, which makes you feel good and crave more, which should not be the case. Our bodies need a regulated amount of sugar intake, and thus taking too much leads to some severe addiction, which is not healthy.
6. Sugar destroys your skin
Excess sugar can aggravate skin conditions, such as acne and eczema. Sugar increases inflammation, which causes your body to produce stress hormones. It causes oil production on your skin, giving bacteria room for growth. This stimulates inflammation and suppresses white blood cells, which makes your body able to fight mild allergens making you have an allergic reaction, which is the acne and eczema.
7. Increase the risk of heart disease
Consuming a lot of sugar increases the risk factors of heart disease such as obesity inflammation and high blood pressure. High sugar diets can raise the chances of getting atherosclerosis disease, which is mainly characterized by a build-up of fats, cholesterol, and other substances in and on the artery wall.
8. Increase the risk of type 2 diabetes
Overeating sugar can cause weight gain and cause obesity, which is a risk factor of type 2 diabetes. This develops when the body becomes resistant to insulin. Instead, what you should do is take healthy sugar amounts. Do not take too little also because it’s not healthy either
9. Can cause inflammation
Taking too much sugar can cause inflammation in the body, which is the body’s response to injury and infection. When it’s terrible, it ignites a list of disorders such as diabetes and asthma, which come after the inflammation.
10. Weaken ability to handle stress
Sugar can slow the ability of adrenal glands to function, which include stress hormone. The more the blood sugar is high, the more stressed you feel. If your adrenals can’t work well, your ability to handle stress drops.
